Do I need my own motorcycle? Motorcycles are provided for the Basic Course. We do not allow the use of personal motorcycles for the Basic Course. In the Basic Rider Course 2/License Waiver you must provide your own motorcycle.
Do I need this course to get a license? Yes, new applicants for a class M license must take the Basic Rider Course or Basic Rider Course 2/License Waiver to get the MSB-8 certificate that allows you to go apply for the class M license.
Can I borrow a helmet and/or gloves? Yes, we have loaners available for the Basic Course. No special reservation is needed nor is a fee charged with the Basic Course.
What other gear do I need to take the course? See BRC requirements.

Will this waive the licensing test at DPS? Yes, Texas DPS will waive the written test and usually waives the riding portion of their licensing test with a completion card (MSB-8) from the Basic Rider Course or Basic Rider Course 2/License Waiver. (Road test can only be waived with a completion card if someone is over 17 and has a current unrestricted class A, B or C license; road test can not be waived with a permit of any class. Driver License offices are not required to waive the road test and are able to use their judgment to have someone tested even if the person meets all the requirements. If someone only wants a class M license, they are still required to take the class C written test since that is the only test that includes Signs and Rules of the Road. The road test would not be waived in this situation since they would not have a class C license.)
What if I need to reschedule? Cancellation given with time for another student to take your place will allow us to use your fee for a future class. Otherwise, you may forfeit your payment.
What if I want a refund? Course payment is non-refundable. In cases of failure to complete the course for any reason, a refund will not be issued nor will a reschedule be allowed without another registration and payment. Cancellation given with time for another student to take your place will allow us to use your fee for a future class.
If for any reason, the course is cancelled or rescheduled by Training Wheels, you will be eligible for a refund of your payment or use toward a future course.
